History

Though negotiations had begun at early as 3644 ED, the official formation of the Covenant of Allied Systems came but two short years following a chaotic time of dischord and strife of the Eternals which culminated with an attack led by Vire Agraumar, powerful entity from the Void whom nearly crushed the Eternals' civilization under his heel. In response to this stunning course of events, the Barias System and the Isaraia System united to forge an official alliance of their worlds in order to more effectively protect themselves. Though the original agreement was to strengthen the bonds of these two systems so that they could potentially pose a viable threat to the Eternals should their worlds come into conflict with the Eternals, this aggression soon turned into fear after they saw what they percieved to be the single most dominant military force in the Continuous laid flat by a foe they were created to defeat.

It is no small coincidence that two races whom have been met with a modest amount of tension from the Eternals were behind the initial founding of this alliance. The Barias System is home to the Burhdiran race, of which a former Eternal come scapegoat for many problems in the Eternal society--Cronimus--is a member of. The Isaraia System is home to a long-time enemy of the Eternals, the Serpines, whom had laid quiet outside of the influence of the Eternals for millennia since their last interactions.

In the centuries that followed the founding of the Covenant, many worlds were shocked as they found the once percieved to be invincible Eternals laid so low by the Void. In fear of what would happen if the Eternals were ever defeated (and among some cultures out of the hopes of defeating them themselves) hundreds of systems slowly merged into the Covenant. Areas of space without significantly advanced cultures as representatives that laid between allied systems were also absorbed into this conglomerate, such as the Ainar System.

Organization

The Covenant's Cabinet of Representatives consists of members of hundreds of allies worlds and systems, each with their own governments, religions and politics. The planet of Ticon in the Barias system once served as the seat of the Covenant Council, but these operations were moved to the CAS-Unified Space Station "Valtalis" in 3688 ED after its construction was finished. The Valtalis is the largest known Space Colony in all of the Continuous, housing 4.3 billion entities from across the CAS.

Military Representation

The CAS is defended by the Covenant Provincial Military, a unified force of soldiers and technology from worlds across the CAS. The Provincial Military serves as a border defense against Void incursions into CAS space as well as defense of shipping lines through Weavespace.

Relations

The Covenant of Allied Systems recognizes the sovereign power of the Eternals and respects their strength. The CAS leant a token support to the Eternals during their reconstruction period after the Sixth Void War in order to smooth relations between the two organizations and to put on a good public face for other prospective nations.

It is common knowledge that a large percentage of the Solar Systems allied with the CAS are anti-eternal sympathizers who believe that the technological advancements of the Eternals and their access to multiversal spanning technology should not be an isolated province. Though primarially out of jealousy for their technological and magical achievements, many worlds of the CAS would not shed a tear if the Eternals were knocked down another notch by another Void incursion. Originally this sentiment was restrained by the belief that the Eternals were the only line of defense against the Void in the Continuous. But due to the events of 3508 ED and the arrival of the Endless Pilgrimmage Fleet in their systems, as well as organizations such as the R Syndicate which harbors no love for the Void, the more vocal anti-eternal worlds are becoming more and more prolific.
