Rurouni Taikai Sunshine
From TaikaiWiki
Rurouni Taikai Sunshine: Dreams Into Nightmares was a side tournament held from October 27, 2002, to November 5, 2002, on the shunyata.org forums. Hosted by Alexander Krizak and Shizuyoko, Rurouni Taikai Sunshine was created in the wake of the extremely dramatic Rurouni Taikai III, and was designed to be a more light-hearted tournament. To emphasize this, all video game characters were allowed to permit a wide range of odd and interesting characters, and the overstory of the tournament was less epic than that of previous tournaments, following the journey of a young child named Kyle Anderson as he gathered warriors to fight a demon named Thar-Shala that preyed on his mind. KyleIII was the eventual winner of the tournament, playing as the hotshot mercenary and pilot Fox McCloud.

Continuity
Rurouni Taikai Sunshine occured within the Eternal Multiverse, allowing participants to use characters from prior tournaments as well as use their characters again in future Eternal-related tournaments. However, the story did not involve any of the Eternals, save for Yume's role in the very last post of the tournament.
Battle System
Rurouni Taikai Sunshine used the Aspect System, a multi-class battle system with roots in the Class System of Rurouni Taikai Tactics and the Axis System of Rurouni Taikai III, as well as the game WarCraft III from Blizzard Entertainment. The system allowed participants to choose any three of twenty distinct Aspects, each one defining a different trait of their character (such as sword use, dark magic, or artistry).
