Main Tournament hosted by Tenshi Kain and Mith Galtirglin in April 2004. This tournament took place on Random Insanity. The sponsor pool for the tournament consisted entirely of villains from anime (led by Shishio Makoto as portrayed by TK) and RPGs (led by Kefka as portrayed by Mith.) The victor of this tournament was Procyon, who was sponsoring Lynx from Chrono Cross. The Tournament is pending official completion, when an epilogue is added...when TK and Mith stop being so busy.

Summary

In a section of the Multiverse called the Flow, characters and archetypes from all walks of literature are aware of their canons, and have formed organizations and alliances. Of course, because there are villains as well as heroes, the organizations aren't entirely friendly with each other. Frustrated with this New Guard of irreverent characters and the lack of respect for the Old School,Kefka Palazzo, head of the Role-Playing Game Bad Guys Association-Alliance-Thingy, conspires with Makoto Shishio, head of the Anime Society for Serial Antagonists, to hold a Villains Convention called "BaddieCon" in an effort to promote the old ways of Evil. To draw people to the Con, Kefka suggests holding a Tournament.

However, because of external politicking resulting in the assassination of several powerful archetypes, the Tournament and Convention themselves become weapons, and, eventually, the old war between Good and Evil becomes more of a priority than the petty conflict between the Old and New Guards.

The Real Summary

Survivor XIII was an experiment on the part of the hosts, who had wondered at the direction in which Tournament practices were headed. The conflict between the old way (sponsor-to-sponsor interaction and players take things seriously) and the new way (host's overstory is serious, players indulge in comedy) manifested itself in the structure of the tournament. Later Rounds were only scripted by the Hosts the Round before, based on the temperament of the players. The result was that the new way won out, much to Mith's chagrin.

Rounds

Round One: Final Form Convention Center (original location)
Round Two: Ohtori Gakuen (Revolutionary Girl Utena)
Round Three: Ultimecia's Castle (Final Fantasy VIII)
Round Four: Snowfly Forest (Vagrant Story)
Round Five: Chronopolis (Chrono Cross)
Round Six: Mount Amada (Mobile Suit Gundam: 08th MS Team)
Finals: What You Here Decide: Final Form Convention Center (original location)

Continuity

Survivor XIII took place within the Eternal Multiverse, albeit with a strange distinction. Specifically, SXIII took place in the Flow, an aspect of the Multiverse under Septerra's jurisdiction, in which characters and muses from all forms of literature and diversion, aware of their ties to their canon and their stories, are cycled through. The High Council of Eternals made an appearance, but did not interact directly with the Sponsor pool, as the Eternals were not entirely aware of the Flow's existence and relevance.

The Flow Mechanics Epsilon, Ryan of the Flow, was in the process of presenting his thesis on the Flow's state to the High Council during SXIII. Taking place shortly after Survivor XII, the scars of Miracle's assault on the city were still apparent.

Roster

Survivor XIII allowed participants to sponsor defined villains from any console RPG or anime, so long as those characters were not licensed from another form of media or were significantly changed from their forms in other media. Participants were not allowed to sign up as Sidekicks. Fluffy sidekicks were allowed.
