Survivor XIV
From TaikaiWiki
Survivor XIV: Two Lotus Flowers was a main tournament held from August 1, 2004, to August 9, 2004, on the Wolf Pack forums. Hosted by CarlyCheeese, Survivor XIV was the first team-based main tournament, and required all sponsors to choose a character from the works of Square Enix, Capcom, SNK, Game Arts, Namco, and SCEI (RPGs only) and then form into teams of three. The tournament chronicled the events that led to the end of the war between Black Lotus and Red Lotus on the world of Nusuth, and began when Portica Montresor recruited a variety of characters from across the Multiverse in an attempt to finally end the war that had consumed Nusuth for generations. Once she had gathered her warriors, Remus Fortunato, the ruler of Red Lotus, intervened and attempted to return the warriors to their rightful homes. A series of complications arose, however, including an attack by Black Lotus, the arrival of the nine Eternal Muses in search of their Gamma Septerra, and the recapture of the characters by Portica. In the final battle, six warriors faced Portica as she embraced the power of the Void and prepared to annihilate Nusuth with nuclear weaponry. She was defeated in the end by The Queenmakers; the winning team was comprised of Moogle as Adelbert Steiner, Renmazuo as Kratos Aurion, and Mith Galtirglin as Glenn Salientia.

*Each character was limited to one theme on the Survivor XIV soundtrack. As a result, in many cases the winner of an award was ineligible for that theme, and the theme was awarded to one of the runners-up. If no runner-up had more than one vote, no theme was awarded.
Roster
Survivor XIV allowed participants to sponsor defined characters from Square Enix, Capcom, SNK, Game Arts, Namco, or RPGs from SCEI, so long as those characters were not licensed from another form of media (unless they were a Sidekick or Striker) and they did not break the Divinity Ban. Sakura Kasugano, Lucca Ashtear and Shizumaru Hisame were ineligible for sponsorship, being instead reserved for overstory purposes. Sponsors had to form teams of three characters, and were eliminated as a team. In addition to fluffy sidekicks, sponsors could choose to play an additional character known as a striker. Strikers were incapable of affecting the game, and had to be formally approved by the host.
